Deutsche postbank targets 40% growth in home loans

Deutsche Postbank Home Finance Ltd DPHFL is aiming at 40 per cent growth in disbursements for 2010-11, its Managing Director, Mr Achim Vogt, has said.

On a likely disbursement of Rs 1,600 crore this fiscal, a 40 per cent increase would imply that the company is targeting Rs 2,250 crore disbursements in fiscal 2010-11.

We feel the home loan market has improved and property prices are coming back. We are confident and bullish about the new business coming up and, therefore, we want to push the company to higher growth, Vogt told Business Line here....

Unitech records 29.37% hike in net profit

Debt restructuring, sell-off of the telecom business to Norway Telenor, and focus on affordable housing saw the country second largest real estate firm, Unitech Ltd post a jump of 29.37% in its net profit at Rs 176.01 crore during the October-December quarter.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 136.05 crore during the same period of the previous fiscal. The period saw Unitech’s total income increasing 57.65% at Rs 774.46 crore, against Rs 491.24 crore during the same period of the last financial year.

Earlier in the week, the country largest real estate firm DLF Ltd posted a 30% decline in its net profit. Unitech was the most adversely affected real estate firm in the country last year after the global financial meltdown, with its share price crashing to around Rs 20....

Parsvnath developer records four-fold growth in consolidated net profit

Realty firm Parsvnath Developers on Sunday reported a robust jump of over four-fold in consolidated net profit at Rs 24.90 crore for third quarter ended December.

The city-based real estate developer had a consolidated net profit of Rs 5.42 crore during October-December quarter a year earlier, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Consolidated total revenue of the firm rose to Rs 305.28 crore during the third quarter of current financial year from Rs 92.77 crore of the corresponding period last fiscal....

Dlf plans to sell 10 bln rupees of bonds

DLF Ltd, India top listed real estate firm, is looking to sell 10 billion rupees of bonds and is in talks for a foreign currency loan to help reduce high-cost debt, two sources with direct knowledge of the matter said on Monday.

The company is looking to sell two-year bonds carrying a coupon rate of 10 percent, payable half-yearly, and three-year bonds at 10.50 percent, market sources said. The yield-to-maturity is 10.25 percent for the two-year bonds and 10.77 percent for the three-year tranche, they added. Axis Bank is arranger to the deal.

Sources told Reuters that DLF is looking to refinance high-cost debt including part of a 17-billion-rupee loan taken from Punjab National Bank PNB at an interest rate of about 13.5 percent....

Pune witnesses return of commercial real estate

A recent research conducted by consulting firms in the realty sector have shown that the return of the IT sector and IT-enabled services and an overall positive perception about economic recovery has had a benign impact on the city commercial real estate sector, including the retail space.

The survey adds that that in spite of the lift in demand for office and other commercial spaces, the lease rentals have remained stable, helping occupiers plan their acquisition better. According to Jones Lang Le Salle Meghraj, leasing activity in the entire Asia-Pacific has gained momentum since the last quarter, as larger emerging markets such as India, China and Brazil are expected to recover from the downturn faster than the rest of the world.

The comeback is, predictably, led by India’s IT sector, with many leading firms such as TCS wanting to hire people in large numbers. Talking to TOI, Mohammed Aslam, head of Jones Lang Le Salle Meghraj in Pune, said, IT/ITeS sector has been a major occupier of office space in Pune....
