Chennai-based real estate developers Ceebros Group plans to start construction work on its third hotel property here, in the next few months.
According to Mr Subba Reddy, Managing Director of the group, the proposed hotel will have 200 rooms, at an investment of Rs 180–200 crore.
Procedural clearances
We await some procedural clearances from the Central Government for the project as the proposed site is the Defence area near the Chennai International airport, he said.
On Tuesday, the company announced the official launch of its second property Raintree on the city arterial road, Anna Salai.
The 230-key hotel features three banquet halls that can accommodate over 1,000 guests, spa and fitness centre, rooftop swimming pool and three restaurants.
The company has invested Rs 200 crore in the project that according to Mr Reddy has been entirely funded through internal accruals. Our hospitality venture Ceebros Hospitality Pvt Ltd, is completely a debt-free entity, he said.
Addressing the media, Mr Reddy said the company first hotel Raintree on St. Mary Road now enjoys an occupancy level of 80 per cent, which is among the top three in the city.
The hotel was designed by architects, Uphasani Design Cells, and the interiors were executed by Zeiler & Lim of Malaysia, said Ms Swetha Reddy, Executive Director, Ceebros Hotels.
More importantly, this second project also conforms to, and, in select instances, exceeds all established norms on eco-sensitivity of our first venture.
Private gardens
In fact, we have eight rooms that have their own private gardens. Ceebros is also planning to refurbish its first property on St Mary Road.
